HCA, Hospital Corporation of America Manager Pharmacy Operations in Englewood, Colorado
I. Position Summary: This position supervises the budgeting, contracting, implementation, security, access, work routines, vendor relations, trouble shooting, training, failure management, system recovery, CSC systems, and all related maintenance of automated systems/web-based systems. Supervises all staff in this regard. Evaluates assigned personnel in the performance of their job responsibilities related to automated systems. Supervises billing, late charges, and batch rejections. Provide leadership and direction for the entire pharmacy technical - support staff. Participates in the total quality management of the distributive functions of the department. May perform the duties and responsibilities of the pharmacy technician and/or pharmacy buyer. This position may make routine visits to off-site locations (Free standing EDs, etc) for medication distribution/management and inspection.
II. Position Requirements:
A. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Certified Pharmacy Technician at time of hire. B. Education: Satisfactory completion of a formal technician training course preferred. CE required for continued certification. C. Experience: Two year experience as a pharmacy technician preferred. Prior technology management experience preferred. D. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: As defined in position competencies. Typing and use of computer keyboard; reading of some technical medical information, physician orders, patient MARs, checklists, and directions; math skills: basic math, algebra, measurements of amounts; preparation of simple reports, completion of forms and logs, writing telephone messages; communication via telephone, computer and face to face with staff, patients, and small groups; excellent interpersonal skills with patients and other health care professionals. Project management skills. Ability to work with automated systems. Granted Pyxis/Meditech/CSC access and privileges.
III. Degree of Supervision Required: All activities supervised by a pharmacist. Works independently, concise instruction given when needed, duties outlined on hiring, completed patient specific pharmaceutical work checked by pharmacist as required by State and Federal Law.
IV. Orientation Period: Four to Six weeks
