SUMMARY:Configuration Management manages, plans, reports and coordinatesactivities concerned with document and data control, product anddocumentation configuration management, and engineering change status.Interfaces with Program Managers, Engineering, Contracts, Manufacturingand Quality Assurance Departments to initiate, process, and release formalchanges to technical data and documentation. Develops and/or monitors andenforces established configuration management processes. Provides support toother corporate locations, business areas, departments,subcontractors, vendors, and customers by processing change requests andproviding CM consultation in a timely and efficient manner. Functions assubject matter expert and system administrator for CM tool set.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:Assists Program Managers with bid/proposal preparation and planning of eachproject's configuration management , technical data and document controlrequirementsCoordinates program activities designed to provide management,subcontractors, and customers with information on proposed and/or approveddesign changesPrepare a physical configuration audit plan based on the program requirementsAnalyzes contractual commitments and customer requirements to develop andimplement configuration management/document control plans andinstructions, which will support the various programs from the conceptualstage through the life cycle of the productsAudits subcontractor's technical documentation and prepares procedures toverify compliance with contract requirementsApplies technical and administrative direction and surveillance over the lifecycle of items to identify and document the functional and physicalcharacteristics of configuration itemsRecords and reports information needed to manage configuration itemseffectively, including the status of proposed changes and implementationstatus of approved changesMonitors configuration items to verify conformance to specifications,drawings, interface control documents, as defined with the program'sconfiguration managementPrepares a configuration management plan per MIL-HDBK - 61 ConfigurationManagement GuideMonitors and maintains configuration of software and related data, which isdefined in the program's software configuration management planControls the application of digital data file configuration identification andconfiguration status accountingEnsures design and technical data documentation is processed through thecollaboration and CCB cycles using the electronic DM/PLM tool WindchillProvides drawing and documentation checking/proofing function as directed byEngineering Services ManagerProvides support to and consults on CM issues with enterprise divisions andsubsidiariesFollows departmental instructions described in the Engineering DepartmentInstructions.ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:Punctuality to work each day and prepared to work scheduled work hoursOther duties as assignedCOMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for thoughtful adherence to all SNC Policies, Procedures, andCompliance regulations (internal and external)Responsible for timely execution of all personnel-related activities such asTime Sheet completion, Performance Evaluations, Salary Reviews,Succession Planning, etc.Responsible for leadership oversight and for ensuring Department/Team trainingESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Minimum physical requirements to perform all duties and responsibilities, asdefined by managementSNC job descriptions are meant as summarizations only.
