Seeking a Safety Manager for an Emery, UT company, with the ability to interact with a variety of staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. The Safety Manager will provide management, leadership, direction and support within the company to achieve Zero injuries. Responsibilities: Organization, flexibility, outstanding employee focus and strong communication are critical in perform duties which include, but are not limited to: Provide safety oversight, leadership and direction in the implementation of a Zero Injury Safety program across the organization. 1. Responsibility for mine compliance and safety programs. 2. Develops ongoing safety and compliance programs. 3. Responsible for dust and noise sampling. 4. Conducts work area safety audits and accompanies MSHA inspections. 5. Coordinates compliance activities. 6. Writes and performs evaluations of roof control, ventilations, and other misc. plans. 7. Maintain operational knowledge of mine safety, MSHA and other applicable standards, regulations, laws, and procedures. 8. Facilitates injury and accident prevention, investigation and analysis, along with the reporting procedure. 9. Conducts training for task, mine rescue, new employee and annual refresher. 10. Develops and Implements the Safety program at the Bronco Mine. 11. In charge of maintaining safety equipment as well as making sure it is kept orderly and is up to standards. 12. Insures that excellent mining practices are being followed and the reduction of citations received. 13. Performs investigation of general mine, sealed areas, roof fall etc. 14. Conducts or assists with major incident analysis. 15. Writes and provides input and assistance in formulating mine plans. 16. Works closely with manager and supervisor to train them in safe work practices and compliance standards. 17. Performs gas sampling and analysis evaluation. 18. Provides documentation, tracking and analysis of all Safety, Injury and Hazard statistics, trend analyses, and MSHA reports. 19. Serve as a resource for safety issues or concerns for team members and operating and maintenance group management. 20. Evaluate and offer solutions for industrial hygiene concerns. Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of mine safety experience Minimum of 2 years general mine experience Education & Formal Training: High School Diploma or GED B.S. Degree, preferably in Safety and or Industrial Hygiene MSHA Certifications: Instructor: (UI, IS, MR, FA, Electrical, Diesel) - CPDM sampling & calibration - Utah Mine Foreman Papers - Diesel Certified - Dusts & Calibration - Noise An Equal Opportunity Employer
