Raytheon Systems Engineer - Program Protection in El Segundo, California

This position requires a U.S. person or the ability to obtain an Export Authorization from the appropriate government agency for non-U.S. persons. Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems (SAS) is seeking a talented systems engineer to join the Navigation and Secure Systems Department as a Systems Security Engineer (SSE). This department provides a wide range System Security Engineering services and products to its customers. This position is within a technical growth area; we are looking for individuals willing to apply their engineering knowledge to the system security engineering or program protection disciplines of anti-tamper, cyber security, software assurance, supply chain exploitation, and threat and design vulnerability analysis. As a defense contractor, there are specific programs requiring a certain level of security clearance and special access for assigned staff. The selected candidate will be required to secure these accesses. Not being able to secure the required clearance and/or special access needed for this position may result in an offer of employment being rescinded. The candidate will assist with the development of technical solutions to complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity without appreciable direction. The SSE will interact with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations. The successful candidate will be a motivated self-starter with experience in Engineering (system, software, mechanical and/or embedded). Activities include: - Applying System Engineering disciplines to programs, especially in the domains of Program Protection - Performing System Security Requirements Development and Verification for new development and deployed systems; requirements analysis; and c reating System Engineering documents - Analyzing and integrating security architecture and ensuring requirements are established, allocated, and maintained; assisting with facilitating technical p resentations to both internal and external customers - Participating in technical peer reviews throughout the product lifecycle of design, development, integration and test, and flight test requirements verification - Interfacing with their team lead, team members, and other teams (SW and HW) on a daily basis - Participating in customer and/or program technical reviews - Providing task progress status updates and work products to the team lead Required Skills: - Minimum of 2 years of systems engineering or equivalent engineering experience (physics, embedded software and/or hardware) - Familiarity with requirements development, analysis, derivations, verification and/or validation - Demonstrated proficiency in analytical skills, strong written and verbal communication capability - Must be able to interact effectively with multidisciplinary teams of system design professionals including electrical, mechanical, software and logistics engineers - Must be a U.S. Citizen able to obtain an Interim Secret Clearance prior to commencing work - Active Secret Clearance is Preferred.
