Raytheon Senior System (Security) Engineer - Anti Tamper in El Segundo, California

This position requires a U.S. person or the ability to obtain an Export Authorization from the appropriate government agency for non-U.S. persons. As a defense contractor, there are specific programs requiring a certain level of security clearance and special access for assigned staff. Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems (SAS) is seeking a talented systems engineer to join the Navigation and Secure Systems Department as a Systems Security Engineer (SSE). This department provides a wide range System Security Engineering services and products to its customers. This position is within a technical growth area; we are looking for individuals willing to apply their engineering knowledge to the system security engineering or program protection disciplines of anti-tamper, cyber security, software assurance, supply chain exploitation, and threat and design vulnerability analysis. The candidate will develop technical solutions to complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity without appreciable direction. The assignment includes representing the organization as the prime technical contact on projects. The SSE will interact with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations. The successful candidate will be a motivated self-starter with an experience in Engineering (system, software, mechanical and/or embedded), and demonstrated ability to exercise considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. These activities include: Leading a large, multi-disciplined, diverse team of system design and system integration engineers from pre-proposal activities, through the competition, and through program execution Establishing and maintaining the System Engineering Integration and Test (SEIT) team’s project cost and schedule EV baseline, providing project management reports as required, and taking actions to maintain the SEIT Teams cost and schedule commitments Providing technical leadership to a team of engineers; leading the execution of integration and test activities, problem resolution and verifying deliverable products; s upporting the development and flow down of systems requirements, error budget trees, performance modeling, simulation and analysis Leading design reviews, test/production readiness reviews, gate reviews, trade studies and other program/customer reviews Providing direction for both the System Security Engineers (SSE), System Engineering (SE), and Integration & Test (I&T) team in the development and execution of the team’s scope of work; m anaging SEIT resources efficiently to execute the team’s plan; supporting new/follow-on business proposals and ROMs; p roviding cost & schedule estimates/impacts for proposed engineering changes; supporting the professional development of team members Providing development feedback and information back to functional organizations; d riving modeling and simulation into a holistic IV&V approach with the objective of early requirements sell-off This individual will interface with their team lead, team members, and other teams (SW and HW) on a daily basis, conduct or participate in customer and/or program technical review presentations, and provide task progress status updates and work products to the team lead. Active DoD Secret or Top Secret security clearance is required * Required Skills: - Minimum of 8 years of systems engineering or equivalent engineering experience (such as physics, embedded software and/or hardware) - Familiarity with Program Protection, NIST/RMF process, cyber systems analysis systems, anti-tamper, Supply Chain and/or Risk Management Software Assurance - Experience with requirements development, analysis, derivations, verification and/or validation on complex multi-processors real time systems - Strong analytical skills; superior written / verbal communication capability - Able to interact effectively with multidisciplinary teams: electrical, mechanical, software and logistics engineers - Experience leading teams and IPTs Desired Skills: System performance / budget analysis - Experience in design / development of Radar and/or EO/IR Systems and with embedded systems Experienced in the certification process through the National Security System as defined by CNSSI.
