The leader in clinical skincare in both the retail and professional arenas is seeking a key employee to fill the position of Director of Professional Education, to report into the VP of Global Education.
This position will create/set the Education Strategy for Murad’s Professional Education initiatives. This role will work directly with sales, research & development and the marketing team in translating science terminology into education modules for the retail consumer and the esthetic community. He or she will develop strong partnerships with all sales channels to understand their end consumer and provide appropriate content and substantiation to support sell-in and sell-through initiatives.
This position is both strategic and hands-on and with their team will generate content to support the brand in communication vehicles ranging from technical documents, training modules, protocols, technical briefs and product knowledge profiles, through to consumer communications (in concert with the marketing teams).
The candidate will develop Murad’s Educational Curriculum & Advance Curriculum; training esthetic field educators through collaboration alongside our partners.
This will also be a self-motivated individual who will seek out new ways to maintain the brand’s competitive edge by maintaining excellence in education through innovative means. Examples include but are not limited to: conducting online seminars for the end consumer and creating educational programs for the esthetic community including our International channel.
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:
Play a strategic role in our content and communication strategy; help develop a “skin expert” voice for the brand
Develop training curriculum materials for new product launches and ongoing product training
Develop product knowledge modules for consumer arenas
Develops solid understanding of current and new processes as they affect the functional end user groups to determine fit/gap of training materials and develop best practice process for inclusion in all training materials
Work with Public Relations to position product features and benefit stories for both trade and consumer press
Present at sales events and speaking or holding classes at key industry functions, including trade shows as needed
Present with Marketing to major esthetic partners and their education teams as needed
Strategically direct education and training activities to provide innovation and results oriented selling tools and techniques
Develop and manage Education budget within the Marketing budget
Fact check on product claims and consumer marketing copy
Other responsibilities as required and as the position evolves
Proven track record effectively managing and inspiring a team
Must have exceptional writing skills
Must have strong execution skills
Must have excellent presentation and communication skills
Must have the innate ability to motivate and inspire other professionals in the industry; demonstrated understanding of professional industry
Must be a self-starter who exercises flexibility and adaptability in responding to change and opportunity
Must be collaborative
Proven track record of education development with a background in science-based education
Strong sense of competitive landscape
Computer literate (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, Internet, Skype, Goto Meeting, Webinars)
Knowledge of interactive training programs and tools
Ability to travel throughout the geographic region as necessary; including international travel as required
Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential
Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently
Ability to read communication styles of team members who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines
Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, and partners
EXPERIENCE /EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree; minimum 10+ years’ experience in similar role
Licensed Esthetician preferred
