Moog Incorporated Cell Machinist in East Aurora, New York
Here's what your day to day will look like...
The Cell Machinist performs a complete range of operations on all types of materials on a lathe, or a mill, or and N/C mill, or a grinder, or an EDM, or on a hone or lap. He/She is not required to be an expert in more than on family (lathes, mills, grinder, etc) of machines. In his/her area of specialty, the incumbent is required to perform set-ups and all other machinist level functions. He/She will be required to operate machines outside his/her area of expertise and to de burr parts. Occasionally required to develop new methods and machining techniques.
Required to interpret drawings, Inspection plans and setup instructions. The incumbent is expected to participate in the planning of work within the Cell and to help solve problems occurring within the Cell. He/she is responsible for the inspection of all work performed; detecting unusual conditions, defective materials, and deviate parts; and recognizing errors in blueprints and operation sheets.
The incumbent must be able to operate material handling equipment including: pallet jacks, overhead cranes, slings and straps.
The incumbent is expected to participate in lean activities such as lean layouts, Value stream mapping. He/she will actively participate in the tiered reporting process, such as production reporting, set daily plan, report and document any issues or delays utilizing the tier board.

* High School Diploma or Equivalent.
* To be Self-motivated and able to multi-task
* Ability to use shop gauges
* Knowledge in Blue print reading and Geometric tolerances
* 3-5 years related machining experience
