GM Global Finance
Intern - Corporate Finance Operations / Treasury / Corporate Staff
As a Corporate Finance Intern, you will be part of our EXCEL (Exploring Careers through Experiential Learning) program. As a participant, you will support and consult with multiple facets of the General Motors global portfolio by designing and implementing timely business solutions.
There are three primary paths to choose within GM Finance, including Operations, Treasury, and Corporate Staff roles. For those wishing to develop broad financial and consulting skills, an operations assignment will provide exposure to areas such as pricing, capital expenditures and competitive benchmarking. For those seeking an opportunity in the GM Treasurer’s Office, and deeper expertise in this area, projects will provide exposure to areas such as Debt & Equity Capital Markets, Structured Finance, Auto Finance, Capital Planning & Corporate Finance, Cash Management, Pensions Strategy, Treasury Operations and FX hedging. For those with an accounting background and interest in obtaining a C.P.A license, areas such as the Controller’s Office, Audit, Global Business Services, and Tax, will provide challenges within the Corporate Staffs role. Regardless of the path, each role provides an opportunity to propose and implement business solutions with regional and/or global footprints. Interns are expected to consult with GM’s globally diverse organizations to gather data, perform analyses, and present recommendations to senior GM executives at the end of their assignments.
Internships are in the United States, typically southeast Michigan or a plant location.
