General Motors (GM) has openings for experienced financial analysts as it defines the future of mobility, and develops its connected vehicle strategy to become the most customer centric automaker.

The GCCX finance team manages our current OnStar business and constantly evaluates new features and services for it. The most recent features launched include Remote Link, Family Link, In-Vehicle 4G Wireless Connectivity, and Smart Driver among many others, plus more in the pipeline. As part of GCCX finance you’ll be a key member of the cross functional team developing and executing General Motors’ connected vehicle strategy while launching connected vehicle commerce businesses and driving the industry’s future through the development of customer centric technologies and services. You’ll also help us manage our global customer contact footprint, actively evaluate ways to optimize it, and ultimately help deliver the best ownership experience for customers around the world. We’re looking for the following basic education, skills and experiences:

  • Strong analytical skills and a fundamental knowledge of finance and economics

  • College degree(s) with a technical major as well as in finance, accounting, marketing, economics, history, science, biology, and/or business

  • 2+ years of experience in Corporate Finance, Operating Finance, FP&A, Consumer Banking, Public Accounting, Treasury, Corporate Strategy, Mergers & Acquisitions, Technology, Consulting, Restructuring, Sell Side Research, Private Equity, Retail, Investment Management, or Venture Capital

  • Demonstrated experience effectively contributing as part of a cross-functional team

  • Experience summarizing large amounts of data to drive the decision making process

  • Experience in use of common financial tools: CAPM, ROI, NPV, financial statements, etc.

  • Project management and problem solving skills

  • Familiarity with accounting principles and concepts

  • Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to teamwork and partnerships

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Excel skills that would put you at the top 20% of your peers or analyst class at a financial institution, and an ability to learn new reporting and analysis tools

  • Experiences that give you a deep understanding of the interaction between strategy, operations and finance in a business

  • Intellectual curiosity and an eagerness to apply external knowledge / information to drive internal changes

  • High interest in technology, the future of mobility, entertainment, media, and connectivity inside or outside the automotive industry and a deep interest for defining the future

  • Experience performing key strategic assignments with minimal supervision and independence

  • Familiarity with a company’s budget and forecasting processes

  • Experience meeting short deadlines, and managing multiple projects with accuracy and reliability

  • Demonstrable experience working on secret strategic assignments and maintaining strict confidentiality

  • An interest and ability to grow within General Motors and learn multiple operating finance areas (Product Development, Treasury, Supply Chain, Sales Service and Marketing, Manufacturing, etc.)

  • An MBA from a top tier institution is preferred, but not required

  • Intellectual curiosity and an eagerness to apply external knowledge / information to drive internal changes

  • High interest in technology, the future of mobility, entertainment, media, and connectivity inside or outside the automotive industry and a deep interest for defining the future
