General Motors Entry Level - Sales, Service & Marketing - SAL0008772 in Detroit, Michigan

General Purpose of Position:

SSM has opportunities for Entry Level positions in Marketing, Field Sales, Service and Operations Support areas of the business.

Each is briefly described below:

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Marketing: An assignment in this area would be gathering data and analyzing marketing data to assist the Marketing Team to make informed decisions. The work would also involve a variety of duties related to field of study with frequent supervisor instruction.

Preferred Academic Majors: Marketing

Field Sales and Marketing: An assignment in this area of SSM will include working on various projects within the Marketing, Home Office Sales Channels or in a Regional Field Sales location. The projects will involve interfacing with SSM team members in Marketing, Product Development, Retail Channel, Wholesale Channel, ACDelco Channel, Accessories, Powertrain or Regional Field Sales. Employees may work with product specialists to develop content and then interface with advertising agencies to translate the content into creative concepts. The assignment will also involve analyzing promotional data to determine the return on investment (ROI). They may also be assigned to a Field Sales team and be responsible for dealer visits and working in a regional office environment.

Preferred academic majors: Marketing and Business

Service & Operations Support: An assignment in this area would be responsible for supporting the field sales team in several areas, such as dealer contracts, meet metrics, and monitor divisional sales and marketing effectiveness. This assignment would also be involved with product launch strategies, analyze dealer sales, local markets and other special projects.

Preferred academic Majors: Marketing and Business

Qualifications:

Interested in undergraduate and MBA-level degreed candidates seeking full time employment.

  • High level of analytical ability to solve complex problems and resolve issues
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Computer skills to develop, maintain and analyze data (including Excel, Word & PowerPoint)
  • Good interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
  • You must have the right to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • Preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0

Additional Information:

Geographic Location of Assignments: SSM assignments are primarily located at the GM World Headquarters in Downtown Detroit, Michigan or at Cadillac Headquarters in New York, New York. However, the Regional Field assignments will be in one of our Regional Sales Offices located in Thousand Oaks, CA, Naperville, IL, Danbury, CT, Alpharetta, GA or Irving,TX. All assignments may include some travel, some more extensive than others depending on specific business requirements.
