General Motors Associate Product Manager - GCC0001296 in Detroit, Michigan

The Associate Product Manager for Mobile Applications is responsible for strategic and tactical execution relative to GM’s suite of global, customer-facing mobile applications. The position holds responsibility for the day to day operational success and future feature planning for mobile application initiatives. The Associate Product Manager helps align cross-functional teams against common goals (engineering, business, marketing, IT, legal, privacy, 3rd parties, etc.) to execute on GM’s mobile roadmap activities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Document product requirements across multiple countries, languages, product platforms and launches
  • Participate in testing & validation of mobile applications
  • Assist with development & implementation activities related to mobile app product roadmaps
  • Assist in developing product experience requirements
  • Collaborate with User Experience team to develop app flows and designs
  • Lead continuous improvement activities for GM’s suite of mobile apps
  • Assist with reporting needs relative to GM’s suite of mobile apps
  • Monitor market sentiment of mobile applications and leverage information to prioritize new features and functions
  • Create reporting dashboards for relevant metrics, illustrating progress against goals, supporting team activities, and report to leadership on set increments
  • Ensure mobile applications adhere to GM Policies and Procedures by working closely with cross-functional teams including security, legal, privacy, etc.
  • Maintain knowledge of mobile application landscape, trends, and features

Experience

  • Prior experience with mobile or web applications
  • Program/product management experience or business planning experience
  • Familiarity with waterfall and agile development processes
  • Flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing environment and specifications
  • Action oriented
  • Dealing with ambiguity

Qualifications

  • 7+ years experience in Product Management and/or App development
  • Experience documenting product requirements or managing products in the digital domain
  • Strong relationship building skills including the ability to relate constructively to all levels of the organization
  • Strong listening, written, and oral communication skills
  • Ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong competency in digital media
  • Self-starting personality with the ability to think strategically, problem solve and develop creative solutions
  • Ability to multi-task across a number of diverse projects and multiple priorities
  • Ability to communicate strategy and plans effectively
  • Experience collaborating across multiple teams and functional areas
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycles
