Job Overview:

CenturyLink is looking for a results-driven Manager of Marketing Communications to lead a team of campaign managers that develop and manage demand generation campaigns for our Global business segment. This key role within CenturyLink Business will grow awareness, generate demand, and drive engagement to help build a sales pipeline to drive the growth of CenturyLink’s enterprise IT business.

The Manager, Marketing and Communications will be a collaborative team player who has deep business and technical expertise in marketing to the enterprise IT audience. Plus, understands the customer dynamics driving the emerging business need for Hybrid IT solutions that enable digital transformation. This expert marketer must be able to translate market and product understanding into compelling demand generation and communications initiatives. The right candidate will have proven ideas on connecting a brand to the IT audience and using thought leadership to activate the brand and bring prospects into the funnel.

Ultimately, the Manager, Marketing and Communications will gain a global understanding of the CenturyLink Business portfolio and drive communications strategies, contribute to building a marketing architecture and drive the messaging through awareness building, demand generation and ongoing customer engagement.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of marketing campaign managers for CenturyLink Business’s Global segment.

  • Identify and understand enterprise IT trends in the broader B2B and technology marketing landscape and our customer's business context and challenges.

  • Support the development of persona-driven positioning and messaging frameworks for business decision maker, IT decision maker and IT Pro audiences across assigned enterprise products and services.

  • Develop and execute a demand strategy across all inbound and outbound channels including digital, ads, events, email, and social. Ensure data-driven planning and campaign optimization.

  • Translate campaign themes into a clear content marketing strategy that drives product need. Ensure an always-on drumbeat of thought leadership and demand content in the market across social, PR, and speaking opps. Be a leader in ensuring content quality and impact.

  • Collaborate with geo marketing heads and field marketing to land demand campaigns in local markets

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS Required. MBA or equivalent advance degree preferred.

  • 10+ years’ experience marketing to the IT audience in network, infrastructure, cloud or enterprise applications.

  • Successful, results-driven audience marketing expert with deep business and technical understanding of enterprise IT buyer and the IT Pro audience. At least

  • A demonstrated, successful history of building marketing strategy and driving campaign execution.

  • Proven track record driving global marketing efforts and connecting marketing campaigns across brand, external comms, social media websites and customer activation campaigns.

  • Strong integrated marketing communications and management skills including research, analysis, strategy and execution.

  • Proven expertise with marketing campaign tools and reporting including ad platform, account-based marketing, tagging tools, Google Analytics, or other marketing tools.

  • Deep experience managing agencies and budgets, expert at writing creative briefs, developing scope of work and overseeing agency retainers.

  • Excellent oral, written, and analytical skills.

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills are also required.

  • A decisive, action-oriented, collaborative leader who is able to deliver consistent and high-quality results while acting as a great team member to others.

  • Ability to manage across groups and work in a matrix organization.
