This mid-level developer position is an opportunity to grow your skills while contributing to the effective function of the County Court's IT system which is its backbone. All court cases are managed on the system internally, but are also utilized by the public, city and district attorneys, and law enforcement (city, state, etc). Accounting and human resources also are supported by the IT system. This developer will work on various mission critical systems to include:
Citywide Integrated Criminal Justice (ICJ) System - This project is focusing on electronically sharing criminal justice information between city agencies, specifically; Denver Police Department, Denver Sheriff Department, Court, District Attorney and City Attorney offices.
E-Filing System – This system allows attorneys' that ability to file a Civil case via the web. This is a huge project with the potential to improve the work environment for the civil judges and staff and also bring in a lot more money for the city.
The Denver County Courtadministers justice when Denver municipal ordinances and state misdemeanor statutes are violated and when petty offenses occur in the City and County of Denver. The Court also resolves disputes between citizens in civil actions filed in its civil division.
The Denver County Court is dedicated to providing effective and convenient services to the citizens of the City and County of Denver.
Consults with users and other information technology staff to identify user problems and design new or existing systems; assists with the preparation of a time line and project plan for the development or enhancement of new/existing software application programs.
Analyzes user requirements, writes specifications and codes, and installs and documents software application programs.
Design and implement backend and frontend components and services.
Develop solutions that account for scalability and optimize performance.
Develop backend SQL Server databases schema, tables, views and stored procedures
Designs, develops, tests, debugs, implements, and prepares flow charts for both new and existing systems to automate end user files and records.
Integrates and implements software packages and coordinates necessary training for users.
By position, may assist lower level developers in the development of applications of a more complex nature.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Mathematics or a directly related field.
Two years of current professional IT Development experience
- Working knowledge of Windows Operating Systems, Visual Studio .NET, Visual Basic .NET, ASP .NET, WCF, Web Services, SQL.
- Understanding of object oriented programming principles (Inheritance, Polymorphism, Encapsulation).
- Familiar with development concepts such as Dependency Injection, Mocking/Test Doubles, Object Relational Mappers.
- Microsoft SQL Server databases schema, tables, views and stored procedures development experience.
- Some Java experience would be preferred.
30 semester hours of course work in Information Technology plus 2 years of professional level Information Technology experience in software analysis, design and programming will substitute for the minimum education requirement. Additional Information
