HCA, Hospital Corporation of America Biller Representative PRN in Denver, Colorado
20-40 hours a week. Biller experience preferred.
I. Position Summary: This position supports the mission of Presbyterian/St Luke’s Medical Center of optimizing the quality of life of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person. The Biller Rep- will process and review correct coding of insurance claims for payment, work aging reports, research denials, and non-payment claims. Prepare monthly statements. Make appropriate month end adjustment, verify account coding for compliance with Medicare reporting regulations. Research charges for adjustments. Provide coverage for other clerical position. When need arises, will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

II. Position Requirements:
A. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Certified Professional Coder (CPC) preferred.
B. Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Associates degree or Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred.
C. Experience: One year clinical billing experience preferred along with medical coding or related field.
D. Special Qualifications: Proficient computer skills, good/courteous customer service skills, billing and coding of insurance claims, aging reports and organizational skills.
III. Degree of supervision required: Involves general guidance and direction by the Business Supervisor of Uptown Primary Care Clinic. Employee will be expected to perform most job duties independently and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
IV. Ages of Patients Served: This position requires knowledge of growth and developmental needs of patients and families. Personnel in this position must recognize and respond to the behaviors of patients and families in each age category. The employee must be able to demonstrate the special skills required to care for patients and their families according to standards. (The skills and knowledge needed to provide such care may be gained through education, training or experience.)
