Position Description:

The Connected Vehicle and Services Vehicle Platform Feature Engineer will lead the development of the requirements and definition of the Service Level Agreements (SLA) to support assigned features as needed. The candidate will function within CVS Feature Platform team and interface with a variety of external organizations including Vehicle Operations, EESE, regional Wireless Carrier(s), IT Applications Development (AD), IT Applications Management (AM) and IT Plant Support teams as required to deliver specific features.

Position Duties:

-Develop and author feature specific requirements.

-Establishment and monitoring of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for assigned features. (i.e. provisioning process, command and control, etc.).

-Create/Review Design Verification Plan to validate assigned features.

-Ongoing preparation and analysis of provisioning or specific Feature KPIs.

-Lead overall end to end management of issue resolution at time of system integration.

-Onsite support of pre-production builds at Ford manufacturing plants.

-The position may require travel as necessary to support launch related activities globally.

-Review component level test plan and results.

-Triage of feature specific issues during the development and launch phases of the project.

-Develop an end to end system knowledge of all components within the connected vehicle eco-system including (In-Vehicle Modules (TCU), Wireless Carriers, NGSDN Application, Mobile Applications, Enterprise IT Systems and 3rd Party Content Providers).

-Lead development of quality deliverables (DFMEA, PFMEA), manage development of SCCAFs, manage quality metrics, quality history and issue resolution process (5D, 8D) as it pertains to assigned feature.

-Work with multiple cross functional teams to ensure robust implementation of specific feature and all quality deliverable.


Skills Required:

3+ years Systems Engineering background or Equivalent. Familiar with Vehicle Manufacturing and Assembly processes. Knowledge of Netcom processes and tools (CANalyzer, CANoe, ValueCAN, DET). Familiar with the design and release process for infotainment systems including hardware, software, communication protocols and architecture. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Prepare reports, manuals and other documentation on the status of specific features.

Experience Required:

-Telematics connected vehicle and Cellular / Wireless Technology experience (Preferred).

-Quality disciplines (FMA processes).

-Onsite support of pre-production builds at manufacturing plants.

-The position may require travel as necessary to support launch related activities globally.

-Working knowledge of embedded operating systems, embedded software architecture and vehicle electrical architectures.

-Manage individual workload and deliver to established project milestones.

-Demonstrate ability to work in team environment and help resolve issues.

Experience Preferred:

-Self-motivating individual with a desire to complete assigned projects.

-Potential travel required.

Education Required:

-The candidate is required to hold a Bachelors Of Science in Engineering or Equivalent IT Degree (Masters preferred).
