DEAN FOODS COMPANY National Account Manager, Sysco Corporate in Dallas, Texas

Generates revenue and profit growth by using a consultative selling approach to grow and retain existing Dean Foods business with Sysco. Establishes executive level business relationships in order to achieve sales and deliver against KPI’s. Implements strategies and negotiates business terms to secure and grow business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Directly lead customer relationship with Sysco corporate representing all Dean Foods business

  • Lead the collaborative development of account business plans and ensure alignment across Dean Foods functions and customer decision-makers

  • Accountable to deliver annual customer plan for sales and gross margin

  • Strategically builds relationships at multiple levels, including executive level with the client and develops relationships with key cross functional contacts (ie. Marketing, category management, supply-chain, R&D), positioning Dean Foods as a preferred dairy supplier and strategic partner.

  • Lead and provide direction to Key Account Managers with responsibility for Sysco Operating Companies across the three Regions.

  • Anticipate customer specific issues and resolve them by effectively involving cross-functional resources

  • Increases revenue and profitability by selling in new products and directing focus with the customer on key categories.

  • Become a leading resource on customer specific trends and insights to improve profitability

  • Facilitate and negotiate customer specific RFP bids, coordinating efforts with appropriate corporate and regional stakeholders.

  • Coordinate, communicate, and monitor monthly price changes and trade programs

  • Ability to understand and develop proper price architecture within business segments

  • Accountable to secure customer support on national programs

  • Conducts Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR) to report out on the state of the business to include all Key Performance Indicators (KPI’S)

  • Ensures compliance with all Dean Corporate policies and procedures.

  • Ability to understand cause and effect of decisions

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • 5-7 years consumer goods company experience in foodservice sales

  • At least 2 years directly managing large, complex customer relationships

  • Dairy Industry experience a plus

  • Strong general business capabilities and analytical skills

  • Good Interpersonal skills that work in centralized and decentralized company

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Travel: 45-50%
