The purpose of this position is to manage multiple functions of building operations and maintenance for a facility, campus or portfolio of buildings. Responsible for leading the work that supports the company's property management services which includes mechanical and electrical systems, access control, fire alarm systems, parking administration, janitorial services, cafeteria staff, utility services, trash removal and landscape services for administrative offices, equipment buildings and all other facilities.
Key roles and responsibilities:
Plans, budgets and schedules facility maintenance, repair and modifications, including estimates on equipment, labor, materials and other related costs. Responsible for building reliability of network space, office facilities and grounds. Responsible for ensuring environmental health and safety standards and procedures are followed. Administers policies that directly affect employees and customers. Recommends changes to unit or sub-unit policies. Frequently interacts with supervising managers, outside customers and companies and functional peer groups at all management levels. Interaction normally requires the ability to gain cooperation of others, to accomplish both preventative maintenance and repair of company infrastructure. Will be responsible for overseeing energy conservation and management for all types of facilities. Identify high-energy consumption facilities and establish strategies for cost reductions.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Minimum of four years of related experience and/or training. Associates degree or Bachelors degree preferred with focus on business, technical or management areas. Prior supervisory experience preferred.
CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES
Facility Management certification preferred. Driver's license may be required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive issues.
Requires advanced knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and commissions. Conducts advanced financial analysis.
This position may be responsible for contributing compliance with environmental laws and regulations as applicable to its job function. This may include, but is not limited to, work related to fuel tanks, emergency and stand-by generators, boilers, hazardous waste, hazardous materials, batteries, manholes and vaults, water wells, and other construction projects, water discharge, or air emissions.
