Job Overview:

The Electrical Engineer will support our client’s Ground Vehicle business. This group specializes in the design, development, test, and production of specialized armored and unarmored commercial vehicles used in tactical and non-tactical environments.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • The selected candidate will perform engineering research and analysis, solving a range of problems.

  • Conducts quality control review, data reporting, and writes/reviews technical documents.

  • Provides support to automotive electrical component design which may include but is not limited to: searching for parts, specifying components, building wire harnesses, and designing circuits, including the layout, build, test, and debugging.

  • Performs assignments by compiling and evaluating design and test data, preparing technical specifications, analyzing technical data to determine appropriate limits and variables for product, process or materials specifications.

  • Interprets, compiles, and analyzes data collected and writes various reports.

  • Conducts small technical projects or phases of technical projects and provides technical direction to and coordinate the efforts of engineers and technical support staff in the performance of assigned projects within time and budget constraints.

  • Builds relationships with internal and external clients and suppliers and presents research results. Communication is key with regard to the schedule and quality of deliverables.

  • Supports business development efforts led by others.

  • Assists with proposal efforts.

  • May prepare technical sections of proposals.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering AND 2-5 years of applicable experience.

  • Experience with analog, digital, and electro-mechanical circuits and components, which may include voltage and current regulators, FETs, LCDs, microprocessors, relays, motors, switches, solenoids, etc.

  • Keeps current in evolving industry trends related to automotive Electronics and Electrical Systems (EES) integration.

  • Product design experience in EES for major and minor automotive and systems development programs.

  • Demonstrated ingenuity and creativity in assuring design requirements meet target cost, quality, and delivery objectives.

  • Demonstrated experience in production launch readiness and/or production support.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software

  • Candidate must be self-motivated, organized, and a problem solver who works well within a team.

  • Excellent oral/written communication skills to support interaction with cross-functional team members, and internal management.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience working within a formal Product Development Process (Phase / Gate).

  • Demonstrated use of design quality tools, including QFD (quality function deployment), CAE Modeling & Simulation, DFM+A (design for manufacturability assembly), dFMEA (design failure mode and effects analysis), DVP&R (Design Verification Plan & Report),

  • DOE (Design of Experiments), and Root Cause Analysis.

  • Experience with communications and interconnects standards and protocols including USB, I2C, RS232, RS485, CAN, Ethernet, Bluetooth, and/or Wifi.

  • Project Management Professional certification

  • Proficiency with Visio and project planning software
