SAT Corporation is seeking a data products manager in Colorado Springs, CO who will be responsible for end-to-end product lifecycle. The incumbent will be responsible for product vision & strategy, business development and product development. In concert with the Network & Data Solutions (NDS) Leadership, drive product growth and market penetration. Develop and present system solutions internally to technical teams as well as to external customers. In addition, this position will work with the Satellite Product Group and KTTS Enterprise Sales Team to implement existing product roadmaps and new products.

  • Product Vision and Strategy
  • Assess the needs and trends of the SATCOM market; technology trends; the competitive environment; product manufacturability, value to the market, and ultimately profitability
  • Communicate this vision internally, gaining buy-in and engagement, and support the integration with the broader segment vision
  • Develop the product roadmap in line with the needs of the business and coordinate with the Network Products Owner, Sales Director, Director of Technology and Chief Engineer
  • Identify market vertical opportunities beyond SATCOM based on maturation of existing products and datasets
  • Business Development
  • Support Sales Team with customer visits, shaping opportunities, and pipeline development
  • Collaborate with BD / Sales on proposals and provides technical content
  • Product training, education for Sales staff
  • Support Competitive Assessment (ICW BD/Sales/Marketing)
  • Develop, create and update content for Datasheets
  • Lead pricing and licensing strategy development and implementation
  • Product Development
  • Support product development team in planning, setting priorities and executing evolving requirements as defined internally and by users/customers
  • Grow product line in response to market and industry needs and in accordance with Product Roadmap
  • Drive solutions across development teams through product requirements, product contracts, and positioning
  • Identify research & development opportunities, and deliver presentation of new product concepts to gain timely management approval and handling of issues for product feature/function set
  • Develop feature inclusion, specific requirement-driven capability, etc.
  • Standup production line for new products; manage design for cost and manufacturing
  • Manage lifecycle management workflow process
  • Project Execution
  • Support Project Management, Project Engineering, BOM development, production coordination, system design, system drawings, ops manuals, initial training, installation, integration, clarifying requirements, and testing activities
  • Coordinate with Ops Support/Production for build and delivery of systems

  • Financial Performance

  • Overall responsibility for revenue and profitability of product area
  • Ensure products and services are offered at competitive and sustainable prices
  • Support managing / tracking of direct and indirect costs in support of product line

Experience and Skills:

  • B.S. or M.S. in technical major with a minimum of 10-15 years of work experience. Equivalent experience will substitute for a degree.
  • Experience in commercial satellite communications market
  • Application and/or development of big data solutions
  • Strong experience in product management / ownership
  • Understanding of product development lifecycle
  • Effective at interfacing with, and advising, management and customers
  • Management / Leadership experience
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills and presentation skills


  • MBA or related degree
  • RF-related work experience
  • Knowledge of US Government organizations supporting Military or Commercial Satellite Communications
