The Boat Captain will operate and maintain vessels for camp. Captain is responsible for loading, transporting, and unloading passengers and equipment safely as well as providing an enjoyable experience to all participants.
65% - Essential - Boat Operation:
Coordinating with program staff to load and unload vessel as well as briefing staff and participants on trip safety. Ensuring that all participant are provided with a safe and enjoyable ride that meets the expectations of the site. Assisting in transporting program supplies. Trailering boats as necessary.
20% - Essential - Upkeep of Boats:
Maintain vessel and equipment including washing the vessel and its trailer. Periodically check all safety implements such as personal flotation devices fire extinguishers, and flares as needed.
10% - Essential - Administrative:
Upkeep of mileage logs for boats. Upkeep of vehicle logs as needed. Ability to fill out any incident reports as needed.
5% - Essential - Other Duties:
All other duties as assigned.
A high school diploma and experience in truck driving, operating a crane or operating a motor vessel.
Firm Job Knowledge - Firm working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to use in varied situations
No Supervisory Duties - Not responsible for supervising employees.
No Budget Responsibilities - No fiscal responsibility for the department's budget.
300 days of vessel operation.
