As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work on a small team of talented developers from top schools like MIT, Notre Dame, John’s Hopkins and others, and oversee development of a broad range of applications to provide our clients with mapping solutions powered by modeling and analytics. In your role as a Senior Software Engineer, you will be writing source code in addition to your other duties.
Your specific duties as a Senior Software Engineer will include:
Managing the full life cycle of our software products including Planning, Implementation, Testing, Deployment and Maintenance
Software analysis, code analysis, requirements analysis, software review, identification of code metrics, system risk analysis, software reliability analysis
Evaluate and identify new technologies for implementation
Project Planning and Project Management
Maintain standards compliance.
Designing, coding and debugging applications in various software languages.
Front end graphical user interface design
Software testing and quality assurance
Performance tuning, improvement, balancing, usability, automation.
Support, maintain and document software functionality
Integrate software with existing systems
Maintain standards compliance
Provide support to Forum support staff in regards to SQL training and database development that will provide assistance to you in managing the on-going requirements of current client systems.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you must be highly detail-oriented and organized with solid leadership skills and the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision. You must also have proven requirements-analysis and problem-solving abilities as well as strong debugging and troubleshooting skills. It is also important for your role as a Senior Software
Engineer that you demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work with a team in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
Specific qualifications for the Senior Software Engineer position include:
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent work experience.
5 - 7 years of relevant work experience required
At least two or three years of experience building web applications in Java and/or ASP.NET.
Overall strong software design, development, optimization, testing, anddebugging skills
A working knowledge of either IIS or at least one J2EE applicationserver
Experience with Google Maps, Bing Maps, GIS, and/or spatial data is abig plus
M.S., or Ph.D. degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics would be ideal, but is not required
Must be highlyentrepreneurial, independent, and responsible for your work
