Daniels Senior HR Business Partner in Chicago, Illinois

We are looking for an experienced HR Business Partner to join our talented and dedicated People & Culture team based in our downtown Chicago office.

As the Senior HR Business Partner, you will be responsible for supporting the Head of North American People & Culture team, partnering with the business to contribute to the wider business strategic agenda to recruit, develop, engage and retain top talent. You will expertly consult and provide guidance to managers across the HR life cycle. To be successful you will need to understand every aspect of the business and be a strong relationship builder focused on alignment with company business goals.

The role:

  • Manages Employee relations: working knowledge of Human Resource practices and laws to ensure legal compliance to applicable human resource federal and state requirements; educating managers, conducting investigations, and managing appropriate corrective actions through counseling and disciplining employees and managing terminations.

  • Employee Engagement: provides coaching, monitoring and championing our employee engagement efforts working directly with leadership to ensure regular 1x1 employee communications and performance feedback sessions, supports leadership development through coaching and proper use of leadership tools for desired culture.

  • Supports the compensation program through development, revision and implementation of the plan. This may involve support of reviewing periodic pay surveys, job evaluations, support to budget process and recommendation of individual pay actions

  • Participates in education and support of the company benefits programs with leaders and employees. Supports the annual evaluation planning through assessing benefit needs and trends in the market, providing recommendations which align with business strategic direction.

  • Maintaining various management and employee guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending HR policies and procedures.

  • Providing support to the talent acquisition function by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees as required.

  • Building trust and credible relationships with Business Leaders, HR and External Suppliers

Experience required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or relevant field

  • Minimum of 4 years of HR generalist experience or related experience in a Human Resource function(s)

  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines (i.e. compensation practices, talent acquisition, organizational planning, employee relations, performance management)

  • Ability to build strong rapport with Business Leaders

  • Ability to support leadership and employees in a virtual environment

  • Experience supporting both salaried and hourly employees preferred

  • Demonstrated experience in coaching and mentoring team members

  • Experience in process improvement

  • Experience in the use of proactive sourcing strategies and talent pools

  • Skilled communicator with a strong ability to build relationships with senior leaders and stakeholders to drive organizational change

  • Customer focus, with exceptional follow-through and integrity

  • Business Acum

  • Strong influencing and problem solving skills

  • High level computer literacy

  • Experience with ADP system is preferred

  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred
