*Summary


Conducts user needs analysis, task flow analysis, interface design, usability testing, use error analysis, in an FDA regulated industry. The individual in this position participates in projects of moderate complexity, managing technical issues to a successful conclusion.


Essential Functions * Support marketing and product development organizations by determining customer needs and requirements * Support development of task analysis, wireframe, and user error analysis * Collaborate with other Danaher OpCos and Beckman Coulter OpCos using Ux principles and methods * Assisting in training associates and implementing Ux and HF methods * Collaborate with team to define detailed user interface design * Assist and/or develop the human machine interface for next generation laboratory diagnostics systems. * Assist and/ or develop User Research studies to identify characteristics of intended users, environments, and critical tasks for design and development of next generation instruments. * Plan and execute usability testing, analyze data, document results and present recommendations to product teams * Use proven human factors methodologies and tools; recommend changes to improve the overall usability and ensure safe and reliable user experience. * Apply FDA human factors processes towards the development of medical devices and follows the guidelines of the FDA (e.g. IEC 62366, AAMI HE75) * Must be at least 18 years of age currently and pursuing a Bachelor or Masters Degree in Human Factors Engineering, Systems Engineering or related fields with a focus or interest in Human Machine interface, Ergonomics, Usability Engineering and User Interface Design. Preference will be given to students having completed at least 3 years of study. * Candidate should have excellent design, engineering and scientific research skills * Must be able to work closely and communicate effectively across different technical and non-technical functions. * Must have demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Design software experience preferred.

Desired/Preferred Qualifications * Experience with systems engineering, human factors, and usability engineering —preferably in the medical device industry * Expertise in one of the following: HMI Design, Graphic User Interface, User Interface Design, User Experience Design
