Job Summary:

Senior Manager of Channel will use knowledge of the brand, buying process and customer strategies to develop and execute channel programs that grow brand equity and sales. Responsible for the development and implementation of business plans, category management concepts, sales presentations, and tools for field sales. They will work as an internal sales liaison across all functional groups with emphasis on marketing, supply chain, and manufacturing to deliver against the demand plan and customer needs.

Ideal candidate has the ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and internal departments (sales, consumer marketing, finance, operations, etc.) and able to work in a fast-paced team environment essential, with a high degree of flexibility and tolerance of change.

-Present strategic direction and business building programs to the sales organization and internal management

-Create national sales presentations in support of the Branded Sales Priorities

-Use consumption and consumer data to build fact based sales presentations to address market opportunities

-Lead role in the development of sales presentations for National Sales Meetings

-Contribute to customer marketing initiatives

-Presentations and materials to achieve MAPS (Merchandising, Assortment, Pricing and Shelving) objectives

-Collaborate on and deploy pricing/promotional strategies

-Determine assortment priorities

-Analyze/Utilize NPD POS data to support key selling stories

-Ad hoc presentations in support of field sales

-Act as the Company's internal sales resource

-Attends key internal meetings

-Own sales input into New Product Development process

-Resource to marketing department on external opportunities

-Work with field sales in developing and monitoring key account business plans

-Coordinates and facilitates all communications between marketing team and field sales

-Conduct joint analyses with other functions in order to develop and provide account strategies

-Forecast volumes for customer-specific trade programs and new display programs

-Forecast innovation in the tactical planning horizon

-Works with field sales and participates in key sales calls.

-Transfer expertise and knowledge to sales managers

-Contribute to annual budgeting of the Company's trade spending across the various channels of business

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • At least 7 years combined channel/trade, brand management and/or sales experience; including understanding customer objectives and shopper experience & buying process.

  • Demonstrated leadership and results orientation

  • Effective interpersonal and collaboration style to work across departments and levels of the organization

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Time management skills to manage competing and changing priorities

  • Ability to effectively manage conflicting demands and recommendations among departments in the organization

  • Syndicated data expertise

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially PowerPoint and Excel)
