Ally Security Data Scientist in Charlotte, North Carolina
Reporting to the Sr. Information Security Director, the Information Security Data Scientist position at Ally is a member of the Information Protection and Risk Management (IPRM) team and is responsible to support IPRM Advanced Analytics, particularly as it pertains to managing and leveraging data as a strategic asset. IPRM's Advanced Analytics team is expanding and this position will be responsible for working with leadership to set the strategic direction for the development of IPRM's Advanced Analytics program. Duties are focused around translating complex data models into actionable solutions that deliver real value. As a IPRM Data Scientist, you will work directly with security teams, partners, and technical staff to understand business needs, develop technical plans, and deliver data-driven analytical solutions that solve problems.
Under general direction, the Info Security Data Scientist will primarily support Cyber & User Behavior Advanced Analytics objectives related to 1.) Ensure high quality on time delivery of the User Behavior & Cyber Analytic Roadmap and projects, 2.) Play a central role in the Action, Insight & Analytics team providing insight and new ideas for both growth and efficiency opportunities leveraging user data and analytics, 3.) Develop solution strategy and provide guidance for enterprise best practices for Advanced Analytics. 4). Help implement IPRM's Advanced Analytics process, partnerships and solution to manage internal and external threats. 5). Create and deploy predictive models from a wide variety of data sources and types using the latest mathematical and statistical methods
Bachelor's degree in a science, engineering, mathematics, computer science or related discipline
Bachelor's degree in information systems or relevant field of study
CISSP, CISM or CISA preferred
Minimum of 5 years of technical experience working with data and deploying analytical solutions
Experience developing a consistent analytic development methodology and process
Strong knowledge of current identity management threats, techniques, and landscape, as well as a dedicated and self-driven desire to research current information security landscape
Excellent problem solving skills and troubleshooting skills with a strong attention to detail
A strong customer/client focus with ability to manage expectations appropriately and provide superior customer/client experience and build long-term relationships
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Experience gathering and facilitating the development of business and system requirements within a broader project team required
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Strong administrative, coordination and interpersonal skills
Ability to use Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and MS Access)
Desired knowledge and experience with machine learning, predictive analytics, data mining, statistics, risk analysis, streaming analytics, anomaly detection, exploratory data analysis, ETL, event log processing, mathematical modeling, graph/network analysis, data visualization, text mining, data access, storage and retrieval
Ability to identify and evaluate risk to IT systems, communicate risk to management
Working knowledge of SharePoint
