Trident Health is a multi-facility health system located in the Charleston, SC, area and comprised of two acute care hospitals – Trident Medical Center and Summerville Medical Center – and Moncks Corner Medical Center, which provides outpatient medical services and 24/7 Emergency Services. We are looking for a new Clinical Nurse Manager of Trident Medical Center's Progressive Care Unit. The Clinical Nurse Manager is responsible for the management of nursing practice and operations on a designated unit/service. This includes, but is not limited to, the management of: clinical nursing practice, staff recruitment, retention, labor relations, supply chain and budget, staffing, employee performance evaluation, quality improvement, staff education, medical records, internal and external regulatory and survey requirements.

Position Duties:

1. Systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of unit operations and nursing practice. Uses appropriate internal and external data and information to identify opportunities, in collaboration with key stakeholders, for improving services and patient outcomes. 2. Responsible for operating within approved budget. 3. Responsible for interviewing and hiring. 4. Ensures availability and operation of necessary equipment and supplies for patient care. 5. Promotes and monitors regulatory agency standards to maintain compliance. 6. Demonstrates that unit culture is focused on patient and family centered care; ensures that each care interaction is anchored in a respectful partnership, anticipating and responding to patient and family needs. 7. Ensures quality of care to patients and families represents “best in class”. 8. Contributes to professional development of staff, students, and colleagues in an environment of mutual respect and understanding. 9. Demonstrates decisions and actions are based on ethical principles and fosters a non-discriminatory climate in which care is delivered in a manner sensitive to socio-cultural diversity. 10. Promotes research, and integrating evidence-based knowledge into the identification of best practice in the delivery of care to the appropriate population. 11. Utilizes the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements as the foundation for nursing practice. 12. Interacts with and contributes to the professional development of peers and others practicing in a Shared Governance model of nursing practice.**

*Licensure/Certification/Registration: *

· Current license as a registered Nurse to practice in the State of South Carolina.

· BLS – Healthcare provider

· ACLS* Transfers/New Hires have six (6) months from employment to obtain ACLS certification

· NIH Stroke Scale Certification must be complete within 90 days of hire.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required; Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration or Business is preferred. Three years of acute care experience, with at least one year of leadership experience in healthcare within specialty. Preferred degree can substitute for one (1) years of the required experience. National certification in specialty must be achieved within 12 months of appointment if not current.

Ability to effectively read, write and speak fluent English. Computer skills needed. Ability to manage a team and work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care. Strong problem solving skills. Creative and innovative skills in personnel management and ability to facilitate growth and development of department and staff.
