The Master of Accounting (MAC) Program at UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School is a top-ranked graduate program that focuses on developing well-rounded leaders who are prepared to enter the accounting industry when their studies are complete. We achieve this goal by upholding a rigorous curriculum, taught by some of the leading scholars in the field; by focusing on accounting courses as well as courses in leadership and professionalism; and by giving students hands-on knowledge with the use of case studies and simulations. The MAC Program has both a lock-step on-campus format as well as a flexible online format. The on-campus format enrolls approximately 150 students each June. The online format launched in July 2015 has two intakes annually, June and December. This is a growing program with an increasing number of students starting each intake and will have approximately 150 total students enrolled at the end of 2016. Beginning in 2018, the online format will move to four intakes annually.
The Assistant Director (AD) is responsible for independently managing the registrar function for the MAC program. The AD is responsible for the quarterly registration activity for all MAC students and will serve as the primary academic advisor and Veterans Affairs (VA) Certifying Official for both formats of the program. The AD is also responsible for working closely with the University Registrar’s Office, Cashier’s Office, and Office of Student Scholarships and Aid to ensure all university policies are being followed.
