UNC Health Care CLINICAL SUPPORT TECHNICIAN II - GI SURGERY ACUTE CARE - 4 ANDERSON NORTH in Chapel Hill, North Carolina

Description

CST II for GI Surgery Acute Care Unit - 4 Anderson North

Clinical Support Technician II functions as a Nuring Assistant II and Health Unit Coordinator (HUC).

We are a 20-bed unit which cares for patient populations including but not limited to: Crohn's Disease, ulcerative colitis, bariatric surgery, and other complex GI surgery patients. We also care for other surgery and medicine patients due to overflow from those units. We are proud to be representing UNC Hospitals as the Innovations Unit identifying opportunities to provide better, faster, more affordable care for our patients. This CST II will be part of our Carolina Care Partners Model.

The Carolina Care Partners in Practice model of care assigns one RN and one CST II to care for a group of patients. This team based approach decreases the fragmentation of care delivered to patients, and increases teamwork and communication between the RN and NA. Using this approach, each RN-CST team is assigned a group of 6 patients. Communication and inclusion is very important in this model. The NA and RN receive report and plan/prioritize their shift together, but still function independently to complete their respective tasks.

The CST II provides routine direct and indirect care in hospital setting, and all work performed is under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or physician.

We provide an environment that supports personal and professional growth with opportunities to advance up the clinical ladder.

This is a 36 hour a week position rotating 12 hour shifts ( day/night; 7a-7:30p and 7p-7:30a). *This position qualifies for an extensive benefit package including PTO hours accrued based on the number of hours hired to work. *This position requires the ability to attend a one week orientation (8am-4pm) which is offered every two weeks.
