UNC Department of Public Safety Assistant or Associate Professor, tenure track (Cancer-Behavioral Intervention) in Chapel Hill, North Carolina

Position Summary

The Department of Nutrition in the Gillings School of Global Public Health and School of Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant or Associate level, with rank commensurate with experience. The Department is recognized as a global leader in nutrition research and training, and our breadth of behavioral intervention and policy research spans from cells to society, and moves from discovery to delivery to dissemination. We are seeking a population-based nutrition and cancer researcher whose work has the potential for translational and policy impact. Preference will be given to behavioral scientists with funded programs in behavioral intervention research related to cancer prevention and control. Educational Requirements

A PhD or equivalent in nutrition or another relevant discipline is required.

Qualifications and Experience

Successful candidates will have clear evidence of capacity to obtain external funding and will be expected to advance a high quality, collaborative, behavioral research program in one or more of the following areas: behavioral interventions using innovative, contemporary trial designs; controlled feeding studies; nutrition/dietary behavioral interventions; cancer prevention and control; dissemination and implementation research translating evidence-based interventions in new populations. Experience health disparities and transdisciplinary thinking is desirable. Other responsibilities include teaching, research mentoring to undergraduate and graduate students, and participation in university, community and professional service.
