We are seeking individuals with the technical skills and personal leadership attributes to help enhance communications systems development through the application of reliability and maintainability techniques. The successful candidate will participate in all phases of the product lifecycle for our communication products, utilizing reliability and maintainability methodologies as they apply in our systems engineering processes. Key responsibilities include the following: reliability and maintainability support to new development programs, reliability and maintainability predictions and analysis, testability analysis, maintainability demonstrations, mean time between failure and repair time predictions, diagnostic information definition, and highly accelerated stress testing. A background in avionics maintenance, performing FMEA/FMECA and organizational level testability analyses, BIT design and verification experience, and the ability to develop diagnostics at the system level is a plus.
Experienced Reliability & Maintainability (R&M) Engineer with several years of experience working with Military Contractors and supporting products designed for the Military. This engineer will be responsible for providing R&M support to new development programs, including reliability and maintainability predictions and analyses, testability analyses, maintainability demonstrations, and highly accelerated stress testing.
Initially, this R&M engineer would be dedicated to performing testability analysis tasks. The objective of a testability analysis (TA) is to verify the equipment’s specified testability requirements, support maintainability repair time predictions (e.g., MTTR, MmaxTR), support FMEA/FMECA failure detection method identification, and support BIT or Maintainability Demonstration, if required, and to provide diagnostics information for use by the customer and RC internal users. The TA systematically identifies, evaluates, and documents the equipment’s functions, failure modes, method of failure detection and isolation, including a detailed test list and test oriented functional block diagram (FBD), in order to determine the effects of failures on mission and maintenance and to develop the equipment’s test design to optimize mission success, system performance, maintainability, and maintenance requirements.
Become part of the growing Government Systems Communication Products Organization! As a Senior Reliability and Maintainability Engineer, you will help design and develop communication products covering all spectrum bands, across multiple airborne and ground platforms. You will work with customers, engineering management, program management, engineering teams, production, business support groups, and subcontractors to create solutions addressing both domestic and international customer needs. Additionally, you will play an integral role in developing the next generation of both networking and non-networking software defined radio waveforms for existing and new communication platforms.
Ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance
Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline
Prior experience in the area of reliability predictions and Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMEA/FMECA).
Prior experience in the area of maintainability analysis and predictions.
Prior experience in the performance of Built-In Test (BIT) design/verification analysis, testability analysis and BIT/maintainability demonstration.
Knowledge of MIL-HDBK-217 reliability standards.
Basic circuit analysis knowledge, and the ability to perform detailed analyses on complex systems.
Prior experience planning and conducting Accelerated Stress Testing, or a willingness to learn and apply those techniques, such as Highly Accelerated Life Test processes (HALT), Reliability Enhancement Test (RET), Environmental Stress Screening (ESS), Highly Accelerated Stress Screening (HASS).
Exhibit the ability to effectively interface with design engineering, software engineering, systems engineering, project management, program management, and the Customer to provide R&M leadership and support.
A solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, especially Microsoft Excel, is highly desirable.
Applicant must be able to manage the R&M effort on programs to ensure tasks are completed on time and within budget.
The candidate must demonstrate they have superior communication skills as a primary responsibility for this position will be frequent interaction with internal and external customers to address technical issues.
This position requires an individual that can perform with minimal direct supervisory support. As such the candidate must be highly motivated and a self-starter. The ability to coordinate several projects and complex engineering activities while balancing priorities and schedules is a must.
A background in avionics maintenance, performing FMEA/FMECA and organizational level testability analyses, BIT design and verification experience, and the ability to develop diagnostics at the system level is a plus.
