Aerojet Rocketdyne Specialist Engineer, Quality Assurance in Camden, Arkansas
Without appreciable direction, the Quality Engineering Specialist applies expertise to directly contribute to the development of new concepts and techniques. This position exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments. T his position will serve as the Quality Site Lead for our locations in Camden, Arkansas and Orange (Culpeper), Virginia.
Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each):
40% - Develops supplier strategies for the site and coordinates enterprise supplier quality assurance (SQA) resources in the field to support needs of the site.
40% - Serves as the voice of the site to represent their unique needs into the overall enterprise Supplier Quality strategy, standard work, etc.
15% - Works SQE tasks such as SSRs, FAIs, etc. Targeting >80% utilization.
5% - Ownership, accountability, and responsibility for performance of suppliers supporting Camden & Orange.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline and nine (9) years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong knowledge of statistics and the interpretation of statistical results expected. Must have the ability to work effectively under general direction and make proper technical judgments, often under stressful conditions. Knowledge of Quality Assurance Systems requirements.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship). Must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information. Having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
Technical experience in Product Reliability, Laboratory Test Procedures, Production, and/or Process Engineering.
Proficient computer skills with Oracle 12 Database a plus.
Advanced degree in an appropriate discipline.
ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit or stand and maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require occasional walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
