Do you want to help shape the future of security of the Internet? Can you analyze a system at different levels of abstraction and spot the flaws? Do you have the hacker mindset? If so, come join the Information Security team as a Senior Security Researcher.

This is not a job about configuring packet filters or applying vendor patches.

You will be crafting enlightening responses to customer inquiries about the security architecture of Akamai's web-scale systems and learning about how customers use these systems. Your expertise will be used to provide guidance to both customers and system architects in order to improve customer safety. Your communications with the teams which support the rest of the business will help them make good decisions and build safe and secure systems.

You will be exposed to new technologies and ideas and be expected to learn them quickly. Your ideas will be challenged and must be backed up with sound logic and evidence – and you’ll have the pleasure of working with others held to the same standards.

Be part of a team of dedicated security experts who work to make the Internet a safer place for everyone.

As a Senior Security Researcher you will:

*Deeply investigate Akamai systems, including by reading source code and interacting with systems.

*Develop authoritative customer-facing documentation on the status and function of Akamai systems.

*Drive better customer understanding of how Akamai operates, protects and enhances web technologies.

*Direct incident response and analysis.

*Analyze and articulate risks to Internet infrastructure.

*Advise decision makers in the development of safer and more defensible software and business processes which better addresses the customers' security concerns.

*Discover how system behavior may have diverged from documentation.

*Originate new ways to find and/or prevent flaws in Internet-connected software and systems.

*Be the technical resource for in-person briefings with both customer executives and technical staff.
