Washington State DSHS Speech Pathologist/Audiologist Specialist 3 in Buckley, Washington


The Department of Social and Health Services' Developmental Disability Administration (DDA) is currently seeking a Speech Pathologist/Audiologist Specialist 3 to join our collaborative team. You'll contribute to the success of our clients and inspire our team at Rainier Habilitation Center.

What you will do in this job:

In your role you make an impact by providing annual speech/language assessments for individuals with developmental disabilities identifying individual communication modalities and needs, developing individual program plans, collaborating with team members, including monitoring progress, conducting oral motor evaluations, and providing staff instructions.

In addition to providing client support you'll also provide leadership support by:

  • Writing program plans including service care plans, task analysis and data tracking systems training paraprofessionals to implement respective programs.
  • Coordinating communication programs with the psychology department where communication objectives are incorporated into the Behavior Support Plan (BSP).
  • Providing oversight of program implementation making observations and providing staff feedback as needed.
  • Providing leadership and administrative representation.

We are looking for someone with:

A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology/Audiology or Communicative Disorders or documentation of American Speech and Hearing Association approved to equivalent to the Master's degree consisting of approved curriculum and student hours.


A Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association.

Two to three years as a speech-language pathologist, or equivalent including one year of supervisory or administrative responsibilities is preferred.
