Job purpose

Food and Beverage is what adds flavourto a stay! Guests love to enjoy their favorite drinks and food whether it’swith friends, family, colleagues or just on their own. To deliver a great guestexperience – a Waiter will prepare beverages and/or serve food in a timelymanner, helping guests to have memorable experiences whenever and wherever theydrink.

Duties and responsibilities

• Greet guests pleasant

• Take beverage and food orders in a

prompt and professional manner

• Prepare beverages requested by

guests using established pouring standards and drink recipes to provide a consistent

product to the guests and to control costs. Coordinate food service

with restaurant(s) for bar/lounge guests if applicable

• Monitor guest behavior and guest

alcohol consumption to determine when alcohol service to the guest

should cease; notify management of incidents involving excessive alcohol

consumption or impaired condition of guests; check identification whenever

the age of a guest requesting an alcoholic beverage service is questionable

• Follow established hotel safety

protocols and procedures at all times. Immediately report any

safety/service incident to the supervisor or manager on duty

• Take action to solve guest

problems/complaints using appropriate service recovery guidelines

• Requisition all necessary supplies

in line with hotel procedures and manage inventories

• Receive cash and credit payments

from customers; give accurate change and balance cash drawer at end of shift in

line with hotel procedures

• Check bar and seating areas for

cleanliness and attractiveness ensuring all standards are aligned to company

and local legislative standards. Inspect all equipment and machinery for proper


• Work as part of a team and

communicate with other departments as per hotel procedures to ensure excellent quality

and service

• Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications and requirements

Basic reading, writing, and math skills. Knowledge of liquor brands,beer, wine, champagne, non-alcoholic beverages, designated glassware,preparation methods and garnishments. Formal bartending training preferred.Must meet legal age requirements. Must be fluent in local language.

This job requires ability to perform the following:

• Handling, carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds / 23

kilograms (bar ware, carts, boxes, bottles, etc.)

• Moving about the bar, lounge and kitchen

• Bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting


• Being passionate about people and service

• Communication skills are used frequently when interacting with

guests, wait staff, cooks,

and supervisor

• Ability to comply to local laws regarding food handling or serving

of alcohol

• Reading and writing abilities are used often when taking orders,

describing cocktail items, completing paperwork, etc.

• Basic math skills are frequently used when handling cash and credit

• Have the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights,

weekends and/or holidays
