Employee Type: Full time Location: MN Brooklyn Park Job Type: Production Packaging Job Posting Title: 3rd shift-Packaging Machine Operator Job Description: * Perform all pre-inspection checks prior to operation. * Guide production line team on work to be performed on the packaging line. * Show line team how to correctly pick materials from pallet using pallet jack or other conveying equipment and place on line. * Show team palletizers the correct ergonomics for pick, bend, lift and turn. * Verify pallet tags and quantity of packaging materials and input/return to SAP process order. * Correctly hoist cheese/seasoning super sacks to unload station, open and dispense into vibratory feeder and monitor during process to ensure flow is uninterrupted. * Handle and place film rolls on arbor shafts, use lift to raise into position, join film web and ensure side seal alignment is correct before introducing cheese to pouch. * Correctly start, stop, and regulate speed of line as per SOP's. * Refer to SOP and Process Orders to maintain package weights within acceptable parameters. This includes cheese/seasoning pouch weights as well as pasta/rice/potato weights. * Inspect/record checkweigher data about every 30 minutes and make line adjustments as required. * Input Zontec data. * Input MII (downtime tracking system) * Inspect packages being produced to ensure correct weights, seal integrity, glue joints, expiration and batch codes, case loading accuracy and glued flaps as well as case print codes to ensure quality and accuracy. * When changeovers are expected, anticipate and communicate with lead/supervisor as to when to cease pasta/rice/potato supply. Also communicate to Forklift Operators as to next process order requirements so materials are readily available. * Keep work areas clean and presentable (food standards include SQF, 5S, and HACCP). * Record the Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) for run rates, timing and quality standards and complete all necessary paperwork. * Responsible to follow production schedule and notify supervisor/lead if unable to do so. * Responsible for reporting any food safety or quality issues to lead /supervisor. * Follow all safety policies and SOP's. * Support and participate in continuous improvement events. * Communicate effectively with peers, subordinates, supervisors, and management. * Other duties as required by plant management team. * When in doubt, communicate with leads/supervisors/QA or other plant management. * Food and employee safety is part of everyone's responsibility.
