Role Description

The CIB Business Architecture and Transformation group is a dedicated team of project and client facing resources focused on large scale change initiatives to address Industry, Client and Business requirements across the Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB). The group provides a unique mix of project skills and product experience that are not tied to a specific business enabling it to provide a consistent, high-quality and responsive approach to the way we manage and execute change across the firm.

Within the Business Architecture and Transformation team, there is a new team focused on optimising efficiencies and reducing costs across Technology and Operations (Business Architecture), as well as working on industry-wide and revenue generating initiatives (Market Infrastructure).

We are seeking an analyst to join this global team, based in<>, with responsibility for driving data modelling to support strategic Programs, across the multiple work streams within Business Architecture & Market Infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partnering with functions across J.P. Morgan globally to elicit details from operations and technology; for understanding business process and current state implementation.

  • Analyse inbound/outbound data from source and downstream consumers

  • Develop/manage complex data models (conceptual and logical)

  • Develop/manage data dictionary

  • Create data mapping specifications and requirements

  • Drives data modelling best practices & Data governance and coordination

  • Define Interface/Message definition Identifying gaps or anomalies for further analysis

  • Works with tech partners to implement the to be models

  • Providing regular updates on data modelling analysis to core team and senior management


We are looking for a motivated individual with at least 2 years experience in the financial industry.The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate strong analytical skills as well as having excellent written and oral communication skills, and be able to work in a high pressured environment.

  • Financial product knowledge (bank loans Derivatives)

  • UML knowledge (Entity Relationship Sequence Diagrams)

  • Industry standardcommunication knowledge SWIFT / FPML

  • Big data, relational, star/snowflake, domain object modelling

  • Strong analytical skills and logical thinking, with attention to detail

  • Ability to work under pressure and to fixed deadlines

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to multi task and prioritise effectively

  • Ability to absorb, understand and decipher information effectively and efficiently

  • Self-starter with ability to manage own workload and deliverables

  • Effective MS PowerPoint skills are desirable

  • Degree educated
