JPMorgan Chase CIB F&BM Fixed Income Operations Business Manager - Associate in Brooklyn, New York

The Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) Finance and Business Management (F&BM) group provides financial advice to support the CIB’s business strategy and helps to ensure a sound control environment. Within F&BM, the four major areas of responsibility are: Business-aligned BMs (Business Managers), the CIB Controller, Support Staff CFO, and Planning and Analysis.


This role will support Markets Operations; a global 2,100 headcount organization servicing Fixed Income and Equities. This position will require regular interaction with senior management across CIB Operations and F&BM.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide timely and accurate financial reportingand monthly business reviews that provide clear, impactful explanations ofoperating results and variances based on relevant business drivers, and helpensure expense goals are achieved

  • Support management in preparing workforce analytics such ascapacity modeling, functional taxonomies, and activity analysis tied to keyoperational metrics

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders

  • Manage annual budget and periodic (monthly) forecasting processes

  • Manage the month-end close process and provide variance commentary

  • Coordinate expense accruals with Controllers

  • Prepare financial (variance) analysis and walk forwards (expenseand headcount) by key business drivers

  • Provide detailed headcount tracking of actualproductivity saves versus plan/target; coordinate Tech & Ops interlocks inpartnership with Tech F&BM face-off

  • Review expenses and identify potential reductions in the cost baseto streamline business processes and improve profitability

  • Deliver Operations executive-level monthly financial reviews

  • Manage product /front office allocations,coordinate monthly business reviews, periodic allocations rules reviews andad-hoc front office queries

  • Manage reporting hierarchy and examine incoming allocations

  • Implement controls and best practices to ensure efficient, timelyand accurate financial reporting

  • Part of a high performance team, adding value to the greater team

  • 3+ years of experience in financial management (planning,forecasting, budgeting and strong understanding of both finance and accountingpractices)

  • Excellent quantitative, analytical problem solving and financial /data / business modeling skills

  • Ability to clearly communicate complex concepts to a non-financialaudience, strong documentation and reporting skills

  • Strong presence, comfortable interacting with and presenting toall levels of management

  • Superior attention to details and process skills; sense of urgency

  • Able to collaborate across lines of businesses and work withcentral/corporate organizations

  • Capable of balancing multiple assignments simultaneously

  • Sound judgment, professional maturity and personal integrity,strong work ethic, proactive and results-oriented outlook, possess courage toask tough questions and challenge the status quo

  • Proficiency in Essbase and Microsoft Office applications

  • BA/BS in Finance or Accounting; CPA/MBA a plus
