SAP is pushing strongly into the cloud. To fuel and to further build up our momentum, we are constantly looking for graduates that want to hit the bull’s eye with their first job and that are eager to experience the abundant opportunities SAP has to offer.

Our business unit is responsible for the world leading product SAP ERP Finance and with S/4HANA Finance we are bringing this to a next level as part of the business suite of the 21st century. SAP S/4HANA is fulfilling SAP’s promise to be the leader in cloud software, while at the same time, protecting the business and investment of our established on premise customer base. With SAP S4/HANA we help customers in their transition process by allowing them to define their own pace in going to the cloud by building a bridge between the two worlds.

SAP Revenue Accounting and Reporting is one of the key solutions within Financials. We are currently investing in this topic and thus expanding our development team. The product is designed to ensure a very high process automation and seamlessly integrates with other components outside Financials (like Sales and Distribution, Customer Relationship Management). At the same time it is designed to cover the new IFRS15 accounting standard. The mix of challenges from a technical and business perspective makes this topic very appealing.

In the Spirit of SAP runs SAP the solution is currently implemented at SAP SE itself as well as a number of other well-known customers (e.g. Microsoft, Vodafone) from different industries worldwide. We are directly collaborating with these customers which gives you the chance to get first hand insight into how customers work and learn from this co-innovation.

The development is set up globally with teams in Walldorf, Shanghai and Brno working on SAP Revenue Accounting and Reporting. A close cooperation between the teams is key and you will work in an international environment directly together with colleagues from other locations. We work in cross functional teams applying Scrum as well as methods of agile software development.

Accompanied by experienced colleagues and managers, you will embark on your professional career as part of an interdisciplinary team, allowing you to pick up substantial knowledge about SAP´s product and processes as well as about how to drive the future of the cloud.

  • Developing software at SAP is more than just writing efficient code - it’s a team effort: starting at product definition and design, including coding, testing, quality assurance, and documenting the results as well as software maintenance. We achieve this in interdisciplinary and international teams that include architects, product experts, quality specialists and developers.

  • Being a developer in an interdisciplinary team, you shouldn’t be shy to interact with your peers, to share your insight, and to identify areas of improvement. In the beginning, your focus will mostly be on learning the ropes of your responsibilities in your team, you gradually will take over more and more responsibility for your role and deliverables.

  • Following the principles of agile software development, we cherish direct feedback from customers by including them already in our specification and design process. At the same time we profit from the feedback we get from customers using our product.

  • Having said this, you should have some solid software development skills and a passion to build meaningful, usable, and high-quality applications for people like yourself: customers.

Required skills

  • From experience, we know that a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, science, or business engineering is a good starting point for your development career at SAP.

  • As part of an interdisciplinary and international team, we build on your communication skills as a team player and your fluency in English. Your analytical skills enable you to learn from every failure and to go forward with every iteration.

Preferred skills

  • We don’t expect you to be an expert on all development methods or programming languages yet. Design, usability and reliability are key drivers for the success of our software. To achieve that, we use SAP specific paradigms and toolkits to develop software that is easy to use, while providing access to the wealth of functionality bundled in our software. Inside the SAP framework we use with ABAP a SAP specific development language. A good understanding of object oriented languages and standards is therefore important.

  • Understanding the concepts of in-memory technologies, such as SAP HANA, is beneficial for you career start. A further interest or already some experience in SAP Business Suite applications like SAP ERP will be a further advantage for you (especially modules FI and SD).
