The Credentialing Verification Organization (CVO) is part of BJC HealthCare's Managed Care department. The CVO provides effective systems interface with all BJC Medical Staff Offices and establishes collaborative working relationships to ensure JCAHO, NCQA, and URAC compliance issues as they relate to physician credentialing. In addition, this team manages and provides oversight for cross credentialing effortsamong BJC member organizations.

Role Purpose

Responsible for performing activities related to the credential verification process for initial, provisional and reappointment applications for medical staff and allied health professionals.


  • Verifies credentials of medical staff, hospitals and health providers are in compliance with federal and state regulations.

  • Maintains accurate data in credential database and permanent credential files.

  • Collaborates with medical staff and leadership to ensure credentialing and processing standards are being met.

  • Provides credentialing reports and maintains data integrity within credentialing systems.

Minimum Requirements


  • High School Diploma or GED


  • <2 years

Supervisor Experience

  • No Experience

Preferred Requirements


  • 2-5 years
