JOB TITLE – Financial Analyst, Physician Compensation

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Assists with implementation of policies and procedures for efficient, effective administration of physician payments, compliance, and financial reporting of employed physician contracts. Assists in communicating and implementing corporate policy and strategic initiatives to meet the program goals and objectives. Responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of Physician Compensation Calculations and reports. Assists in administration of Physician Compensation databases.

DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: * Responsible for assisting in the calculation of Physician Compensation consistent and compliant with contract language.

  • Monitors all physician employment agreements, contract provisions, updates and revisions as required.

  • Assists and provide feedback to Operations, Development, and Accounting in determining appropriate administration of financial contracts.

  • Monitors and assists with implementation of and adherence to operational/contract changes.

  • Assists in the identification of areas of concern for contract problems requiring intervention or resolution.

  • Assists in the preparation of departmental reports, as well as interpretation and variance reporting.

  • Ensures that all processing and reporting deadlines are consistently achieved.

  • Assist in training of new/existing financial staff as needed.

  • Displays consistent behavior that enhances the public image of the organization as evidenced by professionalism in interactions with peers, subordinates, customers (hospital administration, practice, division and other).

  • Maintains strictest confidentiality in the areas appropriate.

  • Serves as a professional resource for Hospital, Physician Services, Legal and Development.

  • Maintains open and responsive communication between Physician Services Operations, Legal, Development, Accounting, Hospital administration team, appropriate Practice personnel and employed physicians.

  • Practices and adhere to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement”. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES – This position requires the following minimum requirements:

  • Skilled in data analysis and ability to analyze financial reports.

  • Knowledge of organization policies, procedures, systems and objectives.

  • Knowledge of accounting theory, principles and practices.

  • Knowledge of legal forms and legal requirements for employed physician contracts and addendums.

  • Knowledge of accounting information systems, computer systems and applications.

  • Skill in planning, organizing and supervising multiple assignments concurrently.

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint.

  • Skill in developing comprehensive reports and analyzing/interpreting complex data.

  • Communicating effectively with others verbally and in writing as indicated by the needs of the audience.

  • Effective organizational skills.

  • Ability to work well with others.

  • Ability to organize work independently and consistently achieve deadlines.

  • Ability to interact with other individuals at all levels of management.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or other related field.

EXPERIENCE – * Experience in financial analysis, accounting and/or auditing

  • Experience with physician compensation contracts

  • Experience in the development and administration of databases
