  • Brandon’s Emergency Room Internship Program is for experienced Registered Nurses who are interested in transitioning from another clinical area to Emergency Services. *

    If you are ready to embark on a new journey that is both challenging and rewarding, Brandon Regional Hospital Emergency Services has the perfect opportunity for you! This is an intense 16-week internship program that is a comprehensive education and training system designed specifically to transition RN to safe, competent professional ER practitioners that deliver exceptional patient care. Our Internship Program is slated to start on January 3 rd2017.

This Internship program will include 16 weeks of Didactic Training and applicable Certification Trainings.

As an Emergency Services RN, you impact patient care in every way imaginable – and then some. You’re responsible for the observation, assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care. You handle health teaching and counseling, promote wellness, health maintenance and illness prevention. You even administer medications and treatment as prescribed. Required Job Qualifications include:

  • Current licensure as an RN

  • Current BLS certification required through the American Heart Association.

  • Minimum of 1 year Hospital Experience as an RN required or prior Paramedic experience.

  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.

  • Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.

  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment.

  • Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds.
