University of Colorado Sr. Internal Communications Cooordinator in Boulder, Colorado

Leeds School of Business is now accepting applications for aSenior Internal Communications Coordinator. This position will support development and execution of the internal communications plan and is responsible for coordinating and executing on day-to-day efforts for school-wide internal communications. Through the implementation of internal communications approaches, this role helps develop the School's culture, creates communications transparency, instills pride amongst key audiences, develops a mentality of brand ambassadors, and supports change initiatives. Efforts Include developing writing and visual layout to communicate via various internal channels, executing internal initiatives to foster transparency and build a culture of inclusive excellence and integrity, developing information management approaches to manage key school statistics, and supporting alignment of Internal news processes and capabilities.

Solutions developed and executed in the areas of responsibility should be forward-looking, scalable, and should support effective brand and sales enablement school-wide. They need to streamline inefficiencies and effectively engage stakeholders to support marketing change and initiatives while positioning the brand for maximum success.

70% of this position's time will be on internal communications and 30% will support repurposing content for external communications.

The School's marketing and communications team works across 20 internal departments with diverse needs and is in the initial stages of centralizing strategic approaches to marketing and communications efforts, communicating the brand message and establish internal communications capabilities. This position reports to the Director of Marketing & Communications and regularly engages and collaborates with stakeholders across the School to develop and Implement projects in the areas of responsibility.

What your key responsibilities will be:

Executes school-wide, day-to-day internal communications efforts in the following areas:

  • Supports the development and delivery of school-wide internal communication initiatives and programs to business unit stakeholders and provides counsel as required.

  • Supports Internal communications plan development and enhancement on an annual basis.

  • Coordinates day-to-day execution associated with all internal communications channels.

  • Manages content development and production of internal digital news with editorial direction from the Director of Marketing & Communications.

  • Types of messages include leadership perspectives, new staff/faculty, innovation initiatives, upcoming events, school pride points, culture formation, change initiatives, and brand building activities.

  • Coordinates, manages and executes internal communications initiatives working closely with key stakeholders to advance communication priorities.

  • Uses effective written and visual communication tactics to ensure communications have impact for target audiences and support alignment of brand and development of brand ambassadors.

  • Collaborates with key stakeholders to write speeches and briefing notes for significant events.

  • Supports internal crisis communications needs such as talking points, briefings and development of standard protocols for notifications.

  • Monitors and responds to feedback channels, elevating sensitive issues for response.

  • Supports establishing internal communications policies and protocols.

  • Supports operational changes to streamline internal communications approaches to create greater efficiency and effectiveness across 20 departments.

  • Tracks metrics to ensure effectiveness of all internal communications and appropriate ROI.

Building Experience:

  • Coordinates and manages daily internal messaging within building to deliver a welcoming and engaging brand message.

  • Identifies opportunities for enhanced messaging on building walls to create a building experience plan that delivers the brand message while also creating a strong school culture.

  • Collaborates to implement approved tactics.

Data Organization & Management:

  • Develops information management approach (likely on Intranet) to organize data associated with key school pride points to ensure the appropriate and most current statistics are used across internal and external communications.

  • Works with campus and school-specific platforms (eg-Salesforce) to obtain and manage communications data.

  • Identifies and implements approaches to effectively obtain better audience data (eg - emails, addresses, etc).

  • Supports data transition and development of internal communications channels.

Learning:

  • Stays abreast of technologies and tactics related to internal communications.

  • Benchmarks Schoors practices against other top schools and industry.

What we can offer:

Salary range for this position starts at $55,000.

Qualifications:

What we require:

  • Bachelor's Degree.

  • 4 years of experience in marketing and communications, including specific experience with internal communications.

  • Experience driving audience engagement and building organizational culture.

  • Experienced using print and digital communications across a complex organizational environment.

  • Experience using MSWord, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Familiarity with Adobe lnDesign and Photoshop.

What we'd like you to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, or Journalism concentrations.

  • Experience in both print and digital marketing.

  • Experience developing internal communications channels.

  • Experience using a variety of technologies such as intranet, mobile apps, and email/marketing automation platforms to increase effectiveness of marketing and communications strategy.

  • SharePoint experience.

Preferred qualifications may be used to further reduce the pool of applicants to those who are most highly qualified.
