Who we are:

The Program in Environment Design (ENVD) at CU Boulder provides expertise in addressing solutions within the context of our built and natural environments. Influenced by the advice of the ancient Roman architect Vitruvius on the education of the architect, our students engage with a broad range of subjects in the humanities, sciences, and social sciences, in order to understand the gravity of the challenges society faces and the contribution designers can make to addressing such challenges. ENVD fosters an innovative interdisciplinary education to prepare students for practice and advanced study in the design-based fields of architecture, landscape architecture and planning, as well as apply design thinking to a variety of other possible careers.

What your key responsibilities will be:

In this role, you will have overall responsibility for the distribution of marketing content for the Program in Environmental Design by way of the program website, social media, print media and all other available channels. Using Drupal CMS, you'll edit the program website to keep the content both current and consistent with campus standards. You will also create and distribute email correspondence and, using a variety of graphics and imaging software, create posters, graphics, books, pamphlets and other hard-copy media.

You will also provide support for the Digital Media Center (DMC), including audiovisual equipment checkout services, one-on-one software assistance for the Adobe Creative Suite, professional studio photography for documenting student projects, and oversight as needed of 6- 8 student employees on behalf of the DMC manager.

In general, you'll focus your efforts in the following areas:

  • Content Management

  • Graphic Design

  • Digital Media Center Support

  • Video/Photography Services

Qualifications:

What we require:

  • Undergraduate Degree in Design, Marketing, Communications or related field from an accredited University.

  • Experience professionally managing content for a business or institution using various Content Management Software and social media platforms.

  • Working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Cloud suite, especially Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop

  • Proficiency in computer hardware and software maintenance and troubleshooting.

  • Working knowledge of technical photography and video production.

What we'd like you to have:

  • Advanced copywriting skills with experience in advertising.

  • Professional graphic design experience.

  • Professional photography and video experience.

Preferred qualifications may be used to further reduce the pool of applicants to those who are most highly qualified.
