The CCAR Model Risk Auditor will primarily spend his/her timesupporting the efforts of Internal Audits capital management and model teams.This will include reviewing, analyzing or testing various components ofSantander Holdings, USA (SHUSA) capital planning and model processes.

The primary responsibilities of the position includereviewing the governance structure and internal controls over the capitalplanning processes (risk identification, scenario designs, operational risks,RWA, CCAR submission, etc.). Additionally, the position will support InternalAudit's review of the model development, validation and implementationprocesses of Capital Models.


  • Assist in audit reports and presentation to senior management and the Board

  • Conducts research on regulations and regulatory guidance, monitors changes and new regulatory requirements, and performs gap analysis if necessary

  • Contributes to the team environment by assisting and mentoring junior auditors

  • Develops effective and ongoing communication with the auditees to ensure proper monitoring

  • Drafts and socializes audit recommendations with the auditee(s)

  • Plans, designs and executes audits of capital planning and other regulatory reporting with minimum supervision

  • Validates remediation to issues raised by regulators or Internal Audit



  • Bachelor's Degree inmathematics, physics, statistics, quantitative finance, econometrics, engineering or actuarial sciencesor equivalent; Masters/PhD degree or advanced education is desirable

  • Minimum 5 years of audit experience or modeling in banking or finance industry, a must

  • Familiarity of Capital Planning, CCAR or regulatory reporting is a plus

  • CPA, FRM or CIA preferred

  • Ability to work independently and under pressure

  • Critical thinking skills to identify potential issues, gaps and deficiencies

  • Data analysis skills to analyze and interpret large amounts of data

  • Excellent communication skills in both verbal and writing, e.g. concise audit report and issue writing

  • Excellent presentation skills to interact effectively with the different stakeholders and to present and defend positions

  • Proficiency with statistical software: SAS/SQL, R or Matlab and experience to pull the large data from Teradata or SQL Server

  • Quantitative modeling skills such as time series analysis, linear/logistic regression, and transition matrix modeling.

  • Understanding of entire model life cycle including data collection, model development, model validation, model back testing and model implementation.
