Aetna Sr Actuarial Consultant/SAS Programmer in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania

This position supports the data requirements of Medicare Bids and data reporting requirements of Medicare Actuarial (Individual and Group). We are looking for a motivated individual who enjoys handling data and improving or streamlining manual processes using computer programming.
This position is for a data specialist dedicated to Part C Medicare Advantage Data. The position is technical in nature involving SAS programming, as well as connectivity to SQL and MS Office products.
-Design and code efficiently using SAS -Manage enrollment and experience datasets used in cohort studies and analyses; assist with data refreshes and the creation of monthly reports -Extract data from multiple sources and consolidate in SAS data warehouse; create Microsoft Access databases for use in Medicare bids -Manage generic datasets from central systems, as well as non-system special cases. -Communicate results to Individual and Group Medicare Advantage pricing teams -Research, troubleshoot, and work with experienced analysts on data quality and reconciliation issues. -Assist with annual financial audits of Medicare data, and occasionally with actuarial audits
Bachelors degree in mathematics, computer programming, actuarial science, risk management and insurance, or healthcare administration
2 - 3 years experience of SAS programming in the insurance industry
1 - 2 years experience in actuarial modeling
Access experience is also desired
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
