Northrop Grumman Technology Sector is seeking a Senior Security Project Manager to join our team of qualified, diverse IT professionals. This position will be located in Bethesda, MD.

The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Health Solutions Management division which focuses on healthcare IT solutions for our Federal, state, and local government clients.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field plus 10 or more years of experience with security focus

Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related field plus 5 or more years of experience with security focus

At a minimum, candidates shall oversee the implementation and operation of security aspects on all Windows, UNIX/Solaris, VMWare, and SQL Server configurations while providing technical leadership, guidance, scheduling, and coordination of the operations staff with regard to security activities.

Additional experience and expertise shall include:

  • Overseeing the identification, analysis, and prioritization of security issues, and the creation of plans of action for mitigating risks and problems

  • Assisting in the scheduling of patches and fixes that minimizes impact on production systems and maximizes productivity of staff

  • Monitoring product patching and update releases to coordinate our production schedule and implement patches and security updates that improve security features and address security deficiencies.

  • Ensure proper relationships are established between customers, teaming partners, and vendors to facilitate the delivery of information technology services

  • Excellent planning and management skills:

  • Coordinate/schedule remedial actions (e.g. backups, maintenance fixes, etc.) with vendor and/or operations personnel.

  • Coordinate with the Program Manager all schedules, operations, and staffing activities to best utilize staff in their areas of expertise, identify improvement areas, and continually expand staff expertise

  • Coordinate with Customer Administrators to collect security requirements, develop plans for implementing changes, and reporting progress to Government task leads and the business community

  • Excellent problem management and troubleshooting skills:

  • Identifying and coordinating the planning, scheduling, and implementing of security upgrades to production systems and resolutions to production-related security problems

  • Refers other problems (e.g. networking) to the appropriate organizations.

  • Reviews monitoring logs for problem identification and suggested resolutions.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill:

  • Documents special procedures required for continuous operations of systems.

  • Ability to work cooperatively and efficiently in a team environment.

  • Ability to support an enterprise production 24x7 environment, with staff on rotating on-call duties, including weekend and evening work when necessary.Preferred QualificationsIn addition to all the Basic Qualifications, preference may be given to candidates that also have expertise and demonstrated experience with:

  • Cloud computing, specifically the design, installation, and management of database infrastructures needed to support enterprise-wide deployments and future systems and applications with enterprise impact.
