Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics HSE Engineer in Beaverton, Michigan

h4Responsibilities/h4 1. Responsible for the Beaverton, MI and Traverse City, MI regulatory reporting requirements under internal corporate, local, state and federal guidelines. 2. Maintain relevant HSE files and records. 3. Manage the site's Toxic Risk Management (TORIMAN) process. 4. Plan, schedule and provide training to supervisors, employees and contractors on subjects related to HSE. 5. Maintain ISO 14001 certification status at the site. 6. Implement and maintain the Beaverton Traverse City Sites Behavior Based Safety processes. 7. Lead HS Pillar and Crisis Management Committee. 8. Ensure safe behavior, safe equipment and regulatory compliance of all outside contractors. 9. Lead the investigation and reporting for all near-miss, First-Aid and Incidents and Accidents involving injuries and/or property damage. 10. Lead First Aid/CPR, PPE, and AED programs. 11. Lead and oversee the efforts in support of the site's Statistical and Non-Statistical goals. 12. Oversee the various HSE auditing functions at the Beaverton Traverse City sites. 13. Maintain hazardous waste disposal program. 14. Oversee and maintain site risk assessment initiatives such as SARA (Safety Risk Assessment) NOS, (European Noise Standard, and Self Diagnostic. 15. Responsible to stay abreast of current OSHA requirements. Site liaison for MI OSHA. 16. Proactively drive awareness and communicate best practices related to Safety h4/h4 h4Background Skills/h4 1. Requires a Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Safety Sciences or related field. 2. Strong communications and team building skills. 3. Ability to participate in self-development activities and training of others. 4. Ability to lead and participate in teams and coordinate activities with other departments to achieve the HSE goals for the site. 5. Strong problem solving skills required. 6. Must have strong analytical and computer skills. 7. Must have knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment and competent to assess and reengineer safety controls as needed (WCM knowledge desired). 8. Proven track record of success as an HSE Engineer in a manufacturing environment with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
