Honeywell Maintenance, Hourly in Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Honeywell has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Hourly Worker at our Baton Rouge, LA 70805 facility. This role will be primary responsible for executing maintenance tasks in a safe, efficient and effective way according to job requirements.
This position reports to the maintenance Mechanical Supervisor. Employees must be able to perform these key functions with or without reasonable accommodation. This summary is not an exclusive list of responsibilities and employees may be required to perform duties, which are not listed.
Main Job Responsibilities Include: Following these steps to complete a job:
Review the job package and check if work can be carried out safely
Obtain the work permit
Perform the task for the job package
Investigate the source/cause of the problem if major issues arise during work
Complete the work and return equipment to operations Assist in the analysis to ensure the problem is corrected Complete input for updating (MAINS/Engineering files etc.) Apply the skills of respective trade/craft/discipline in executing maintenance work Leverage trade skills to apprentice and other maintenance associates. Assist in the development of Maintenance Work Procedures Follow the Global Maintenance Work Process Feedback information on job package quality and Root Cause Analysis data as required Document/record history Assist in maintenance planning Follows job plan to complete work Follows standard work procedures where available
Physical Requirements - while performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is routinely exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high precarious places, toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the environment is loud. Work in an area that may be hot, cold, wet and dusty. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, pull or push.
Manual Dexterity - grasping, using keyboard devices, using tools with long handles. Climbing 8 - 25 foot ladders. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Using visual displays, written and quantitative materials, judging distances, and the difference between colors. Coordinating hand and/or foot movement with what is seen.
Basic Qualifications: High school education or GED At least 1-year experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Additional Qualifications: Previous chemical plant experience is desired Additional years of experience is also strongly preferred Additional or focused coursework in the physical sciences and math are a plus Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting background in repair of a variety of equipment and machinery Strong communication skills
