Description/Job Summary

Position Summary

The principal responsibility of the Supervisor is to ensure the proper cleaning and maintenance of the assigned areas in accordance with the contract requirements. Works closely with the Site Manager to supervise the staff.

Essential Duties

  • Tour assigned areas daily for inspection, client contact, and follow-up.

  • Helps in the selection, assignment, scheduling, and training of members of the custodial staff.

  • Plans and oversees all custodial work, maintaining a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency.

  • Performs minor maintenance and replaces lights, ceiling tile, and windows where possible.

  • Maintains an inventory and recommends selection of suitable custodial supplies.

  • Inspects the performance of the custodial staff on a daily basis.

  • Oversee working methods and procedures of all on-site staff.

  • Perform any general cleaning/porter job functions as needed to ensure all cleaning and service functions are completed to customer s satisfaction.

  • Must get along well with others and deal effectively with client and partner organizations.

  • Activates and deactivates the alarm system.

  • Submits work orders by telephone or computer.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Minimum Requirements*

  • Must have thorough working knowledge of the proper procedures for cleaning and sanitation products, techniques and methods.

  • Bachelor degree in business management, hospitality management, or the equivalent.

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in managing janitorial operations including relevant experience of managing medical office locations.

  • Understand and follow employee handbook, policy and procedures, and payroll requirements.

  • Manage the workforce in a fair and consistent manner.

  • Must have strong written and verbal communications skills.
