Johns Hopkins University Library Assistant II in Baltimore, Maryland

The Sheridan Libraries are seeking an innovative, creative, user- focused library assistant to assist with the delivery of services to faculty and students based on the Homewood Campuses. General Nature and Purpose of the work – provide assistance to users of course reserves by processing materials in multiple formats. Seasonal position that will run from July – October

Responsibilities

  • Create access to course materials: interpret and organize course information and use library andelectronic reserve management systems to execute circulation functions, create indexing, trackorders/requests, and solve problems; search full text subscription databases; use PDF conversionsoftware and operate scanners.

  • Interact with faculty to clarify information, explain policy, and redress problems.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Two years of related experience is required. Additional education can be substituted for experience. Exposure to automated library systems preferred.
